Dedue had expected perhaps a little more propriety from a man who had asked to court him, but goes along easily enough when Byleth pulls him into a kiss. He is far more sure and confident in such things than Dedue is-- far more experienced, no doubt-- and there is something reassuring in being able to let the professor take the lead. Another lesson to be mastered.
