Each kiss sees him more ticklish than the last, almost, and since when has he laughed like this? Since when has been so full of joy like this? The fact that it's hard to remember, even for his time here and being so close to Byleth, probably speaks volumes to how important this moment is for the both of them. How could it not be? Once Byleth is done attacking his face with kisses, he's quick to return an arm around his shoulders and hold him close as he can as he looks at the man with a brightness in his eye.

"That's all I've ever wanted," he says, sincere as ever, as he gazes at Byleth like he's everything. He is. While Dimitri has no shortage of love in his heart for others here, it isn't a stretch to say that Byleth has been a guiding star for him through the darkest of times and now towards a much brighter future.
