At his most basic, Dimitri has always been a kind man. Too kind, even, some would say. It was what had led him to such a lowly state once he'd lost everything; he felt hurt, betrayed, and like it was his own kindness - a weakness, he perceived it as then - that put everything into motion. That was the reason he suffered.

He knows better now. He does. But the point remains: Byleth is right. He is loving and kind and wants more than anything to show as many people as he can while here. None more important than Byleth though, of course. His beloved, now and evermore.
